Brief History: Manannan Mac Lir’ was born to Lir , a sidhe god of water and Conventina, a Fomorian sea nymph. After the sidhe fled from their isles in the Atlantic they settled in Ireland and fought the Fomorians and turned them into sea monsters, banishing them into the seas. Lir , ruler of the seas surrounding Ireland, raped Conventina, a former Fomorian princess turned sea nymph. From their union came Manannan Mac Lir’, who inherited his mothers `fishiness'. Latis was executed for infidelity [he was married at the time of the rape] and so was Conventina. Taking pity on the child, King Lugh raised him as his own, training him in the ways of the sidhe. The Sidhe Court split and King Lugh died in war with Nuad, the first Unseelie king. King Lugh's son, Arawn, took the throne and, jealous of the affection Lugh gave Manannan Mac Lir’, banished him from the Seelie court, claiming no sea monster could ever abide in the Blessed Throng. Manannan Mac Lir’, having no where else to go, joined the Damned and served under the same king who had killed the closest thing he had ever had to a father. At the court, he guarded and ruled the Unseelie seas. King Nuad died in battle with the goblins and his daughter, and dais, became queen. Manannan Mac Lir’, fearing what the court would become under Andais' rule, turned to her younger brother, Essus, and counseled the youth on handling the court. Years later Manannan Mac Lir’ and many of the other sidhe gave up some of their powers in one of the `weirdings'. Mana gave away his power to communicate with ocean life, a gift given to him by his mother and changed his name to Barinthus. Even after the weirding, Barinthus still held great magic. Seeing his power, Andais appointed Barinthus as one of her ravens. The rest is history.

This layout has been succesfully tested and works perfectly in Mozilla 1.5b, Firebird 0.6.1, Firefox 0.9, Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7.1, and Opera 7.11. This layout is valid HTML 4.0 transitional, and was made to view at 800 x 600 resolution and up, though it looks best at 1024 x 768 or higher. The graphics are optimized, without compromising on the quality, as one can tell by the loading time for the page. The design comes with the template, unmarked graphics and the style sheet. The image map interface navigation uses javascript for the rollover effect.
The font and link colors are not web safe colors, you can use them, or use the suggested web safe colors listed in the read me file that comes with the licensed design.

The text link effect is created with CSS, but it only works with Internet Explorer. This design uses advanced HTML and intermediate level CSS, so you should have a strong, very thorough knowledge of both to work with this design. Graphic customization for the image map navigation interface may be ordered. There are no tables used in this layout, rather I used CSS floats. You can add more, change the sides, etc., as you like. Essentially, you are limited only by your imagination and your level of coding knowledge.
